Friday 24th January 2020, 10.00am – 4.00pm

There is so much more to etching than just straightforward inking-up. What this course will offer you is how to look at creating a print in a different way. Bring plates you’ve already made, and we’ll create colourful prints using chine colle, inking-up in colour and à la poupée – an intaglio printmaking technique for applying different ink colours using a ball-shaped wad of fabric to apply the ink to a copperplate. Who knew? Experiment with a variety of printmaking papers to add richness to your etching process, print multiple plates on the same piece of paper, create little narratives and use monotype to add dashes of colour to your plate.
This course is for those who have already done a course in etching. Please bring as many plates as you would like. If you have damaged plates, we’ll try to see how to retrieve them and how to get the best out of them.
Cost: £65 for members and £75 for non-members, maximum number 8.
